What is it like to be a woman today?
The complex question triggers a multitude of responses, fascinating to immortalize and photograph. For some time, things seem to have changed. Women realize strong, multiple life choices, anchored in them since always. Today, their choices seem finally respected.
With this photographic competition, Bioderma has invited people to share their vision of women with fully expressed energies, who assume their choices. Beyond the freedom of action, the images stop on the force of a glance or the will of a face, so many expressions which show their inner strength and their intimate convictions.
Their choices deserve respect.

There are a thousand ways of being a woman nowadays. But how to become a woman in a mostly masculine environment ? This woman gives us her answer. She moves with a lively step despite the threatening shadows, without giving up anything of her femininity. Her red skirt with white dots confirms it.
Social participation among traditional people is more intense. These women live in a traditional house in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Isfahan, where one can still find traces of old traditions.
In this image, women in traditional clothing, on a carpet that they have woven themselves are eating a local food called “Kofteh” that they have co-cooked.
Born and raised in the countryside, under the environment of traditional preference for sons over daughters, I try to record the situation of my growth through taking pictures of myself.
As the result my family’s ignorance, I don’t have any sense of security at all. So every existing female figure is deeply imprinted in my heart And these figuremake me memorize the past and look forward to the future. In this way, I seek after a special sense of security for myself.
I titled this photo “It’s in the air”. And it is a photo about love obviously, since it is about my wife, my soul mate. This is a photo taken in Takelsa, a beautiful region in Tunisia, located in Cap Bon.
